Aurora Lights All Over the Place
Last night everything came together for a brilliant show of the northern lights.
Pauline Lafontaine
The northern lights are caused by charged particles in solarwinds coming from the Sun, Most of the particles are repelled by the Earth's magnetic field, except at the north and south magnetic poles where some of them are able to get past the field. When they collide with the atmosphere, energy is released in the form of light. The colors are the product of substances such as oxygen and nitrogen. Further reading on northern lights in Iceland can for example be found a auroraforecast.is.
Not only tourists were amazed by the show last night. Our members of staff could not take their eyes of the dance.

Lack of light and strong solar winds gave the perfect condition for enjoying the northern ligths.
