End of Summer 2023
Þingvellir national park´s summer program is now over and autumn – winter program takes over
We will continue our 14:00 guided tours starting from the Visitor centre until the end of September but Þingvellir church will remain closed until next spring.
The summer went very well and even though June was a bit cold the next two months more then made up for it.
Our guided tours through the assembly site were quite popular and surpassed previous years.

The staff of the national park has provided information, experience, surveying maintenance, cleaning and supervision through out the national park. Our emphasis has though been on the most visited site in and around Almannagjá. We have greeted numerous guests via our guided walks, school groups and group of experts that come to visit the national park. Then of course we have given numerous instructions, in our visitor centre at Hakid and service center at Leirar, on how it is best to enjoy and experience what Þingvellir has to offer.
We now receive our first yellow weather warning, which is a good reminder of the coming winter, which will hopefully not be too hard.
This summer goes in to the history books as been quite chilly in the beginning but from then on really nice.
