Opening after storm
People were ready to enjoy Þingvellir despite the weather. As soon as the road opened cars started to appear here at Þingvellir.

Our staff and contractor moved quickly to ensure that buildings and paths were open and ready for the park´s guests. As soon as the weather calmed down and road 36 over Mosfellsheiði opened cars started to pull up by the national park´s Visitor centre at Hakið.
Some headed straight out to the viewpoint and then down into Almannagjá while others went inside and enjoyed the park´s exhibition.
Both man and nature blowed the snow too and from sites and buildings this morning.

Some guests enjoyed Þingvellir inside. The national park´s interactive exhibition touches both on history and nature of the park.

It was cloudy towards the mountains. The lake Þingvallavatn was though quite visible and also the assembly site it self.

Already in the early morning the park´s contractor had gone through Almannagjá, clearing it of most of the snow.
